Delta Society® R.E.A.D.®

A heart-centered message from the founder of Dog Talk & TheraPet, LLC

and New England Pet Partners, Inc.:

Passionate about dogs and nature, as a child growing up in a small 4-four room apartment in Lowell, MA, dogs were my constant companions.  They often joined me in my "safe places".  It is no surprise to me, and many others, that dogs (and other pets) help us in many ways.  In addition to listening, companionship. dogs are often a barometer of our own behaviors, emotions, fears and joys.  Let's be mindful that dogs will always be dogs, humans-humans.

Children learn to respect other species by sharing in the discovery world of nature and pets.  I believe it should be everyone's goal to make our world a safer place for children and pets.  Breaking the cycle of violence towards beings who cannot (or choose not) to defend themselves can happen with raised awareness among parents, educators, teachers and practioners.  It is a universal mantra that transcends barriers of communication from culture to culture.

Our Pet Therapy Programs are inspired by organizations such as the Delta Society®, Intermountain Therapy Animals®, R.E.A.D.® (Reading Education Assistance Dogs), Latham Foundation and many more.  We are Affiliates of the Delta Society and R.E.A.D. because there is no point in reinventing an already well greased wheel.

We are advocating, facilitating, training and helping to register quality teams, some from the ground floor up, for these programs through our organization.  You can find the teams when they are registered by clicking on Find A Team Float to www.deltasociety.org or www.therapyanimals.org for an extensive, national list.  Interested in making a difference for children & pets to break a cycle of violence and educate caretakes, www.latham.org.

  • The teams at New England Pet Partners, Inc. are registered with Delta's Pet Partner® Program.

  • All teams MUST complete the home study or online (when applicable) programs, and/or attend a Pet Partner Team Training.

  • NEPP offers workshops and practicums through-out the year, but you do not have to take them here to be part of our growing teams.  Journey to Delta or R.E.A.D. for an extensive training site list.

  • We welcome anymore wanting to learn more or be am ambassador for human-animal awareness and education relating to pet-assisted therapy.

  • There are many ways to make a difference and a contribution by volunteering.

  • We rely on donations to support our teams (all species).  Click n Go to DONATIONS.

It is with gratefulness that we are part of the mission to enhance the quality of life
