NEPP Presents - Lowell
General
New England Pet Partners, Inc.
is raising awareness by bringing people & pets together to enhance
well-being and education with pet-assisted therapy.
New England Pet Partners,
Inc. offers team training skills, resources and programs to those
choosing to use the registration process and guidelines of the Delta
Society's Pet Partners program, R.E.A.D. and NEPP.
As Dr. Temple Grandin shares
in her book, Animals Make Us Human.
Working with pets to inspire people to help
themselves through self awareness and learning new life
skills — sometimes through difficult transitions -- teaches us
compassion and keeps us grounded. Embracing a careful sense of
humor and humility, that pets often give us, promotes an empowering resiliency
that we can let go, learn and grow, no matter what.
We encourage people to take small, meaningful
steps toward change. Listening, observing, laughing and
simply breathing
can enhance one’s quality of life and health. We can learn from
our dogs who live, play, work and love in the present moment.

Animal-Assisted
(or Pet-Assisted) Therapy: Pet-Assisted Therapy
Programs (and training) to support the needs of health care professionals
(and their clients/patients), organizations, schools, libraries and
private practices. Through a structured yet flexible
plan, we can assist in developing a program and provide training to
integrate Pet-Assisted Activities and/or Therapy, as an adjunct to
existing treatment modalities. The team works to create an integrated
treatment program designed to promote awareness, education and
understanding. This enhances recovery, self-esteem and learning, for children, groups, families and older adults with transitional, emotional and physical challenges.
