Just another day at the Office ...

They are welcome in many hospitals, nursing and assisted living facilities, rehabs, private practice, schools and libraries.

The dogs need to be desensitized to a broad variety of sights, sounds and smells. They enjoy what they are doing, as a welcome presence at many facilities.

Where are Registered Therapy Teams Welcomed?

Do yo u have a calm, friendly dog or cat? Are you interested in visiting local hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, schools, libraries or other venues?

Do you enjoy making a difference that can make you feel good too?

New England Pet Partners Inc. evolved in 2007 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization from a passion to raise awareness about the positive benefits that pets can have on human health. We are expanding the therapeutic role by training and registering teams to work, as an adjunct therapy, in health care and education.

Registered teams visit individuals, patients and/or groups. Teams participate in private practice, physical and occupational therapy, mental health and wellness, cancer and kidney units and more ...

Teams help children improve their reading skills through reading with dogs, when appropriate.

All teams are specially trained and registered. Our goal is to create great therapy teams. We offer mentoring and support through the process of connecting with clients, staff and facilities.

How to become a registered team?

Pet-Assisted Therapy

There are two distinct programs that NEPP offers:  Pet-Assisted Activities and Pet-Assisted Therapy. NEPP uses the Delta Society and R.E.A.D. Programs for evaluation and registering.

NEPP focuses on dogs, cats and occasionally horses.

Pet-Assisted Activities provides opportunities for motivational and recreational benefits to enhance a person’s well-being. People who love pets get to touch and spend time with them.

Pet-Assisted Therapy is a directed intervention that uses pets to meet specific therapeutic goals in collaboration with attending primary care staff.

Reading with dogs and canine-assisted learning teams deliver interactions that can enhance existing programs in schools and libraries.  To learn more ...
